The Dalek Project Graphic Novel Delayed

BBC Books have recently confirmed that the Tenth Doctor’s upcoming encounter with the Daleks in an exclusive Graphic Novel, titled The Dalek Project written by Justin Richards, will not be published around this September as originally planned. This exclusive Tenth Doctor Graphic Novel will be the first time that the Tenth Doctor has encountered his enemies the Daleks since the events of Prisoners of the Daleks.

The Daleks first made an appearance in Doctor Who at the very beginning of the programme in 1963 during the First Doctor story The Daleks, written by Terry Nation, and have since appeared numerous times to battle the Doctor. The Daleks most recently appeared in Doctor Who during the 2008 two part finale, The Stolen Earth and Journey’s End, in which they attempted to destroy reality with the help of Davros.

Regular Doctor Who Novel writer Justin Richards has written The Dalek Project in which the Tenth Doctor encounter the Daleks during the Second Human World War while Mike Collin has illustrated the story. An exclusive foreword from departing Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies has also been included in The Dalek Project.

Below is the official synopsis for this graphic novel;

1917: The Great War is at its fiercest and most terrible. But things are about to get even worse… When the Doctor arrives at Hellcombe Hall in England he discovers a house full of mystery. There are locked doors and forbidden rooms, dustsheets cover guilty secrets, the maid Mary Carter is scared of the ghosts... And that’s before Corporal Anderson finds that his muddy corpse-filled trench ends in the drawing room. Armaments manufacturer Lord Hellcombe has a new secret weapon he believes will win the war. But when the Doctor witnesses the final demonstration he begins to realise how much danger everyone is in. Because Lord Hellcombe claims to have invented the Dalek. Except, of course, that nothing is quite what it seems. The Doctor and his new friends must draw on every type of early 20th century technology and every element of human ingenuity and bravery if they are to discover the truth and to survive. If they are to prevent the entire Western Front of World War One from becoming part of The Dalek Project.

BBC Books originally had planned to release The Dalek Project on the Twenty Fourth of September for the price of £14.99 around the United Kingdom and Ireland. Doctor Who Hideout will keep readers informed regarding the official release date of The Dalek Project around the United Kingdom and Ireland by BBC Books.
