Planet of the Spiders Audio Cover

BBC Audio have recently revealed that the final Third Doctor story Planet of the Spiders will be released later this year as an audio exclusive based on the novelisation by Terrance Dicks. Planet of the Spiders was the officially the last episode to feature Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor alongside Elisabeth Sladen as popular companion Sarah Jane Smith and Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart from UNIT.

Planet of the Spiders, written by Robert Sloman and Barry Letts, was first broadcast in the United Kingdom and Ireland by the BBC in Spring 1974 as six weekly parts. This episode was the first to introduce Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor who would become the most recognisable Doctor due to his curly hair and long multicoloured scarf.
