Official Synopsis for The Beast Below

The BBC Press Office have today published the official synopsis for the second episode of Doctor Who’s fifth series, The Beast Below written by Steven Moffat, which will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD on Saturday the Tenth of April. The Beast Below will see the Eleventh Doctor, portrayed by Matt Smith, and his new companion Amy Pond, portrayed by Karen Gillan, on their first voyage into the future.

The official BBC synopsis for this story:

The Doctor takes Amy to the distant future, where she finds Britain in space. Starship UK houses the future of the British people, as they search the stars for a new home. But as Amy explores, she encounters the terrifying Smilers and learns a deadly truth inside the Voting Booth.

The BBC Press Office haven’t confirmed when The Beast Below will be transmitted but current rumours suggest that it could be broadcast as early as 5:45pm which is the earliest timeslot Doctor Who has received since its return. Next Thursday will see the official press release for Victory of the Daleks in which the Doctor encounters his greatest enemies once more.
