More Doctor Who Series Five News from Murray Gold

Murray Gold has confirmed in an online interview with that he will continue to work on Doctor Who for its fifth series which features Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as companion Amy Pond. Murray Gold first joined Doctor Who when it was brought back in 2005 by Russell T Davies and has worked on Doctor Who ever since and three soundtracks featuring his Doctor Who music have been released.

Both Mark Gatiss, writer of The Unquiet Dead and The Idiot’s Lantern, and Gareth Roberts, writer of Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures stories, have contributed an episode for the new series according to Murray. Other writers that have been confirmed for Doctor Who’s fifth series include Steven Moffat and Comic Relief creator Richard Curtis.

The Eleventh Doctor will make his official television debut in Spring, currently rumoured to be late March or early April, on BBC One and BBC HD with new merchandise featuring the Eleventh Doctor appearing around the same time.
