The Broadcasters Audience Research Board have recently revealed the official viewing figures for parts one and two of The Gift, written by Rupert Laight, after its premiere broadcast earlier last month on BBC One and BBC HD. The Gift starred Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith with Tommy Knight as Luke Smith, Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer and Anjli Mohindra as Rani Chandra encounter the Blathereen.Part one of The Gift, broadcast on the Nineteenth of November, managed to achieve an official viewing figure total of 0.95 million with a 7% share of the television audience. The second part of The Gift, broadcast on the Twentieth of November, managed to achieve an official viewing figure total of 0.85 million with a 7% share of the television audience.
Russell T Davies has confirmed recently in Doctor Who Magazine that series four and five of The Sarah Jane Adventures are in pre-production, but nothing will go ahead without permission from the BBC. The Sarah Jane Adventures series three is currently rumoured to be released on DVD in January, instead of November like series one and two, around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
