The Key to Time DVD Box Set Re-release Confirmed

2lEntertain have recently confirmed to Doctor Who Online that Doctor Who’s Sixteenth Season, featuring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor with Mary Tamm as companion Romana, will be re-released around the United Kingdom and Ireland. Season Sixteen, commonly known as The Key to Time, features the Fourth Doctor with Romana and K9 travel the universe in search of The Key to Time for The White Guardian.

Season Sixteen begins with The Ribos Operation, written by Robert Holmes, in which the Fourth Doctor is recruited by The White Guardian to locate the Key to Time with the help of Romana and K9. The quest for the first segment takes the Fourth Doctor to the planet Ribos in which galactic trickster Garron is trying to sell Ribos to the Graff Vynda-K.

Season Sixteen continues with The Pirate Planet, written by Douglas Adams, in which the Fourth Doctor continues his search for the Key to Time alongside Romana and K9. The quest for the second segment should take the Fourth Doctor to the planet Calufrax but instead the Doctor arrives on the planet Zanak in which he encounters half-robot The Pirate Captain.

Season Sixteen continues with The Stones of Blood, written by David Fisher, in which the Fourth Doctor continues his search for the Key to Time alongside Romana and K9. The quest for the third segment takes the Doctor and Romana to Earth in the 1970’s where they have to deal with both the Ogri and Cessair plus the justice machines - the Megara.

Season Sixteen continues with The Androids of Tara, written by David Fisher, in which the Fourth Doctor continues his search for the Key to Time alongside Romana and K9. The quest for the fourth segment takes the Doctor and Romana to the planet Tara in which they become embroiled in the political games, complicating the coronation of Prince Reynart.

Season Sixteen continues with The Power of Kroll, written by Robert Holmes, in which the Fourth Doctor continues his search for the Key to Time alongside Romana and K9. The quest for the fifth segment takes the Doctor and Romana to arrive on the moon of Delta Magna but are caught in the conflict between the native Swampies and the crew of a chemical refinery.

Season Sixteen concludes with The Armageddon Factor, written by Bob Baker with Dave Martin, in which the Fourth Doctor’s search for the Key to Time concludes with assistance of Romana and K9. The quest for the final segment takes the Doctor to Atrios caught in a war with planetary neighbour Zeos but the Black Guardian is closing in on the Doctor.

This re-release of The Key to Time series box set will not include any new features from the previous limited edition release and has been repackaged in a standard slipcase that will house the six DVDs. 2lEntertain will re-release The Key to Time series box set on the Sixteenth of November for the price of £69.99 around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
