Doctor Who Christmas Preview Confirmed for Children in Need

The BBC have recently confirmed that the upcoming Children in Need telethon, on the Twentieth of November, will include an exclusive preview for the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Specials. Doctor Who’s last contribution to the BBC’s Children in Need telethon was in 2008 with an exclusive preview consisting of the opening of The Next Doctor, the fourth Christmas Doctor Who special, ahead of transmission.

The BBC’s Children in Need telethon begins live on Friday the Twentieth of November at 7.00pm on BBC One hosted by Sir Terry Wogan joined by Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon. Doctor Who and Torchwood actor John Barrowman will also be making an appearance live on the Children in Need telethon in a duet with Myleene Klass in the studio.

Doctor Who’s first contribution to Children in Need was during 1983 with the Twentieth anniversary Special The Five Doctors, featuring Peter Davison, during Children in Need. Since Doctor Who returned to BBC One it has contributed to the Children in Need telethon with two mini stories, an exclusive concert and an exclusive tour of the Upper Boat Studios.

With the BBC showing an exclusive preview on Children in Need, the Doctor Who special The Waters of Mars, written by Phil Ford and Russell T Davies, is rumoured to be broadcast on the Fourteenth of November. David Tennant will make his final appearance as the Tenth Doctor in The End of Time rumoured to be broadcast on New Years Day.
