The Dalek Wars Release Date Announced

2lentertain have recently confirmed that the upcoming DVD box set release of Frontier in Space with Planet of the Daleks, under the title The Dalek Wars, will be released around the United Kingdom and Ireland this October. The Dalek Wars box set was originally expected for release this December but has since been moved forward to October after Torchwood: Children of Earth was released on DVD soon after transmission.

The first part of The Dalek Wars box set, Frontier in Space, was written by Malcolm Hulke and featured Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, with companion Jo Grant, encounter the Ogrons working with the Master. DVD features for Frontier in Space include: Commentary, Stripped for Action - The Third Doctor, Photo Gallery, The Space War, The Perfect Scenario - Lost Frontiers and Roger Delgado - The Master.

The second part of The Dalek Wars box set, Planet of the Daleks, was written by Terry Nation and featured Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, with companion Jo Grant, encounter the Daleks after the events of Frontier in Space. DVD features for Planet of the Daleks include: Commentary, Stripped for Action - The Daleks, Photo Gallery, The Perfect Scenario - The End of Dreams, The Rumble in the Jungle, Multi-Colourisation and Blue Peter.

The Dalek Wars box set will be released by 2lentertain on the Fifth of October for the price of £34.99 around the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Fifth Doctor’s encounters with the Black Guardian, the Black Guardian Trilogy, will be the next Doctor Who DVD box set to be released, being released this upcoming Monday, around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
