Doctor Who Children in Need 2009 Special Confirmed

BBC Entertainment Correspondent, plus fellow Doctor Who devotee, Lizo Mzimba has recently revealed that Doctor Who will have an official contribution to 2009’s Children in Need on his official Twitter page. Various British Tabloids, originating from the Mirror, reported last month that an exclusive Doctor Who Children in Need Special will feature the return of the first Nine Doctors and the debut of the Eleventh Doctor.

Doctor Who’s first contribution to Children in Need commenced during 1983 with the Twentieth anniversary Doctor Who Special The Five Doctors. Since Doctor Who was brought back to BBC One in 2005 it has contributed to Children in Need twice with exclusive mini adventures featuring the Tenth Doctor.

The Mirror claim that Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston will all appear in the Children in Need special with both David Tennant and incoming Doctor Matt Smith. William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee will all reportedly be making cameos appearances using footage from previous episode of Doctor Who due to the three actors sadly passing away.

Doctor Who has also been involved with Children in Need during the recent years with an exclusive Doctor Who concert in Cardiff during 2006 and an exclusive tour of the Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures studios in 2008. An exclusive preview of The Next Doctor was also shown last year on Children in Need night ahead of its broadcast on Christmas day.

Doctor Who Hideout will keep readers informed regarding the 2009 Doctor Who Children in Need Special as November draws nearer. Doctor Who returns to BBC One this Autumn with the second exclusive Doctor Who Special titled The Waters of Mars featuring the Tenth Doctor alongside one-off companion Adelaide.
