Torchwood: Children of Earth Synopsis’s (Spoilers)

The BBC Press Office have recently confirmed that the upcoming Torchwood five part miniseries, Torchwood: Children of Earth, will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD the week beginning Fourth of July. All five episode of the Torchwood miniseries, Torchwood: Children of Earth, are currently unplaced by the BBC Press Office but the episodes are currently rumoured to be broadcast from Sunday to Thursday.

Episodes One, Four and Five of Torchwood: Children of Earth have been written by departing Head Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies who previously wrote the first Torchwood episode, Everything Changes, for series one. Episode Two of Torchwood: Children of Earth has been written by English writer John Fay. Episode Three of Torchwood: Children of Earth has been written by James Moran who previously contributed to Torchwood with Sleeper which was the second episode of Torchwood series two.

An ordinary day becomes one of terror, as every single child in the world stops. A message is sent to all the governments of Earth: "We are coming." But, as a trap closes around Captain Jack, the sins of the past are returning and long-forgotten events from 1965 threaten to reveal an awful truth.

Torchwood is forced underground as the government takes swift and brutal action. As members of the team are hunted down, Britain risks becoming a rogue state. Meanwhile, the mysterious and powerful 456 draws ever-closer.

Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto are helpless as events escalate to such a degree that mankind faces the end of civilisation itself.

Torchwood finally learns the truth about the events of 1965, as the adventure continues. But Britain is in danger of becoming a rogue state, and everything now pivots around John Frobisher, as the Ambassador of the 456 destroys its old allegiances and reveals its true intent.

Torchwood is defenceless and Gwen Cooper stands alone, as the final sanction begins, in the last part of the new Torchwood adventure.

As violence erupts and the world descends into anarchy, an ordinary housing estate becomes a battleground, where the future of the human race will be decided.

Torchwood: Children of Earth features John Barrowman, as Captain Jack, alongside Eve Myles, as Gwen Cooper, and Gareth David-Lloyd, as Ianto Jones, who face terrible danger from the mysterious 456 aliens. Euros Lyn, director of the final two Doctor Who specials featuring David Tennant, directed Torchwood: Children of Earth last Summer around Cardiff and London.

Torchwood: Children of Earth will be broadcast over on BBC America, in America, from the Twentieth of July to the Twenty Fourth of July.
