Doctor Who to Face the Credit Crunch?

Various British tabloids have recently reported that various BBC programmes including Doctor Who, Eastenders and Top Gear will face significant cutbacks due to the current recession happening in the United Kingdom. The tabloids claim that special effects on Doctor Who over the 2009 specials and the fifth series will have to be limited.

The articles are even claiming that actors and actress’s from all the BBC programmes will face the wrath of the Credit Crunch as their pay will be cut. The BBC confirmed last month that Doctor Who will be filmed and shown in high definition starting from the upcoming special Planet of the Dead.

Visit here to read the article that sparked the BBC cutback rumours for various BBC programmes. The BBC haven’t confirmed this rumour as of yet but Doctor Who Hideout will keep updated regarding possible cutbacks for the 2009 specials and the fifth series for broadcast in 2010 around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
