Doctor Who BAFTA Nomination

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have recently confirmed the nominations for the upcoming 2009 BAFTA awards with one being Doctor Who for the Best Drama Series category. Doctor Who faces opposition from the Channel Four produced programme Shameless, the BBC produced programme Spooks and another BBC produced programme Wallander.

British actress’s June Brown and Anna Maxwell Martin have also joined the nomination lists for Best Actress. June Brown previously made an appearance during the Third Doctor episode The Time Warrior while Anna Maxwell Martin previously made an appearance during the Ninth Doctor episode The Long Game.

Doctor Who previously received the award of Best Drama Series by The British Academy of Film and Television Arts during the 2006 BAFTA awards. The award ceremony will take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday the twenty sixth of April.
