The Depths of Despair Released

The BBC’s Children’s Book Company have officially released the fourth fantastic installment titled The Depths of Despair which is part of the ten part Children’s book series, Doctor Who: The Darksmith Legacy. BBC Children’s Books have previously released The Dust of Ages, The Graves of Mordane and The Colour of Darkness from the Darksmith Legacy series.

Frequent Doctor Who Books writer Justin Richards makes his second contribution to the series with The Depths of Despair after his first contribution of The Dust of Ages. The Vampire of Paris is the next novel in the Darksmith legacy range with a release date of April the thirtieth.

Below is the official synopsis for The Depths of Despair;

The Doctor arrives in an underwater base on the planet Flydon Maxima – known locally as ‘Despair’ because hope is lost for all life there.

The scientific base has for centuries been monitoring the results of planetary warming – the slow melting of the glaciers at the south pole and subsequent rise in sea levels. Curiously their most advanced monitoring equipment was created and donated by Varlos. The Doctor is helped by a little girl called Gisella.

Why did Varlos risk coming here? What has caused the ice to crumble so rapidly now? Can the Doctor evade the rampaging Dreadbringers, and sort out the attacking sea monsters? Who is Gisella and will she and the Doctor manage to escape in the TARDIS?

Don’t miss this thrilling fourth installment of the Darksmith Legacy...

The Depths of Despair is currently available for the RRP of £4.99 around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
