The Nightmare Fair Audio Cover

Big Finish Productions have recently revealed the official cover for the upcoming audio release of The Nightmare Fair, featuring the Sixth Doctor encountering The Celestial Toymaker, which forms part The Lost Stories audio series. The Nightmare Fair chronologically takes place for the Sixth Doctor and Peri after the events of Revelation of the Daleks in which they encountered Davros alongside Daleks on the planet Necros.

The Nightmare Fair was an intended Sixth Doctor story for Doctor Who’s Twenty Third series in which the Sixth Doctor and Peri encounter The Celestial Toymaker at Blackpool. Doctor Who’s Twenty Third series was then later replaced by the Fourteen part Doctor Who story The Trial of a Time Lord because of Doctor Who being taken off the television for eighteen months after Revelation of the Daleks.

The Sixth Doctor is narrated by Colin Baker and Peri Brown is narrated by Nicola Bryant while The Celestial Toymaker in The Nightmare Fair is narrated by actor David Bailie. The Celestial Toymaker, portrayed then by Michael Gough, made his only appearance in Doctor Who’s history during the First Doctor story The Celestial Toymaker featuring William Hartnell as the Doctor.

Below is the official synopsis for The Nightmare Fair:

The Sixth Doctor and his companion Peri are lured in the TARDIS to Blackpool, where they discover that something is afoot in the local videogame arcade. The Doctor's old adversary the Celestial Toymaker is behind it all, and the Doctor and Peri must fight their way through his videogames in order to defeat him.

The Nightmare Fair also features Matthew Noble, Andrew Fettes, Louise Faulkner, William Whymper, Toby Longworth and Duncan Wisbey. Big Finish Productions will release The Nightmare Fair on the Thirtieth of November around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
