The King’s Demons and Planet of Fire DVD Release Announced

BBC DVD have recently confirmed that two adventures featuring the Fifth Doctor, The King’s Demons plus Planet of Fire, will be released by 2lentertain early next year around the United Kingdom and Ireland as a two disc DVD box set. Both of these Doctor Who stories feature the Fifth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Davison, encounter his arch nemesis the Master, portrayed by Anthony Ainely, who seeks control of Kamelion.

The King’s Demons is a story in which the Fifth Doctor, with companions Tegan and Turlough, travel to the Court of King John in 1215 unaware that the Master is attempting to change history with Kamelion. The King’s Demons marked Kamelion’s first, out of two, appearance in Doctor Who as companion of the Fifth Doctor.

Planet of Fire is a story in which the Fifth Doctor, with companion Turlough, are taken to the planet Sarn in the Tardis by Kamelion where they encounter the Master who is attempting to tap the power of the Numismaton gas. Planet of Fire not only marked the final appearance of Kamelion in Doctor Who but the first appearance of American companion Peri who would later depart in Trial of a Time Lord.

BBC DVD haven’t confirmed when The King’s Demons with Planet of Fire will be released by 2lentertain around the United Kingdom and Ireland only that it will be released early next year.
