Children in Need Rumours

The Mirror, one of the many British tabloids, are reporting that all Eleven Doctors will be returning to Doctor Who later this year for an exclusive Children in Need Doctor Who special. Doctor Who first contributed to Children in Need during 1983 with the Twentieth Doctor Who anniversary, The Five Doctors, and then later during 2005 and 2007 with two Children in Need mini episodes featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor.

The Mirror claim that Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston will all appear in the Children in Need special with both David Tennant and incoming Doctor Matt Smith. William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee will all reportedly be making cameos appearances using footage from previous episode of Doctor Who due to the three actors sadly passing away.

Doctor Who has also been involved with Children in Need during the recent years with an exclusive Doctor Who concert in Cardiff during 2006 and an exclusive tour of the Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures studios in 2008. An exclusive preview of The Next Doctor was also shown last year on Children in Need night ahead of its broadcast on Christmas day.

A BBC insider reportedly said:

“Nothing has been finalised yet, although there is discussion of a Children in Need Doctor Who special. It is too early to say what.”

Doctor Who Hideout would like to remind all readers that the BBC haven’t confirmed that Doctor Who will be contributing to Children in Need this year, but we’ll keep you updated regarding Doctor Who’s possible involvement with Children in Need this year. The Mirrors ‘exclusive’ article is currently available to read here on the Mirrors official website.
