After the success of Doctor Who Russell went on to bring two new spin-offs for Doctor Who called Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
During May 2008 Russell announced that the final 2009 special would be his final involvment with Doctor Who to be replaced by Scottish writer Steven Moffat. Doctor Who Hideout hopes that Russell T Davies has enjoyed his birthday and thank him for such commitment to a programme that was long since gone.
