Planet of the Dead DVD Cover

2lentertain have recently revealed the official cover for the upcoming DVD release of the latest Doctor Who Holiday special Planet of the Dead featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. Planet of the Dead features the Tenth Doctor alongside one-off companion Lady Christina de Souza in this one-off Easter special written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts.

Planet of the Dead is the first Doctor Who special in 2009 out of four which will signal the end of the Tenth Doctor era before being replaced by Matthew Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. The second 2009 Doctor Who special is written by Russell T Davies with regular Sarah Jane Adventures writer Phillip Ford making his first writing contribution to Doctor Who.

Below is the official synopsis for the Planet of the Dead DVD;

Bionic Woman and Merlin star Michelle Ryan plays the mysterious Lady Christina de Souza who joins the Doctor on a bus-trip which takes a very unexpected detour into danger. British comedy star Lee Evans also joins the cast playing a character called Malcolm whose life becomes connected to the Doctor's under extraordinary circumstances and Noma Dumezweni returns as Captain Erisa Magambo - last seen helping Rose and Donna save the world in Turn Left.
