BAFTA Cymru Nominations

The Welsh division of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced nominations for the upcoming BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Media Awards. Doctor Who has received nine nominations for series four, Torchwood has receive two nominations for series two and The Sarah Jane Adventures has received one nomination for series two.

In addition to the above nominations, Torchwood actress Eve Myles has received a nomination for best actress for her work in the BBC Wales drama Belonging. During the previous BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Media Awards Doctor Who managed to achieve six awards.

Best Sound: Doctor Who sound team, "Midnight"
Best Editor: Phillip Kloss, "Midnight"
Best Make-up: Barbara Southcott, "The Next Doctor"
Best Screenwriter: Russell T Davies, "Midnight"
Best Original Music Soundtrack: Murray Gold, "Midnight"
Best Director: Film/Drama: Euros Lyn, "Silence in the Library"
Best Design: Edward Thomas, "Adrift" (Torchwood)
Best Costume: Ray Holman, "From Out of the Rain" (Torchwood)
Best Children's Programme: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith (The Sarah Jane Adventures)


Doctor Who has also been nominated recently for the official BAFTA awards and the BAFTA Craft awards. The eighteenth annual BAFTA Cymru awards takes place on the nineteenth of May in Cardiff with Doctor Who expected to gain the majority of awards.
