Jamaican born director Stephen Hopkins will reportedly be filming the first episode of the fifth series of Doctor Who featuring the debut of British actor Matthew Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Stephen Hopkins is widely known in the television world as the director of various episodes from the first series of the popular American television programme 24 starring Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer.No official confirmation regarding the actors or production team involved with the process of series five except Matthew Smith, Steven Moffat and Piers Wenger have been revealed by the BBC. Series Five will begin production this Summer with the likely broadcast for series five being Spring 2010.
