Visual Effects Success

Doctor Who has been successful in the latest the Visual Effects Society ceremony for the matte paintings in Steven Moffat's Silence In The Library and Forest of the Dead from last year. The stunning work from Simon Wickers, Charlie Bennett, Tim Barter and Arianna Lago was nominated last month for most Outstanding Matte Paintings in a Broadcast Program or Commercial.

The Mills work on the Cyberking from The Next Doctor has also been nominated for most Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series but unfortunately lost out to Battlestar Galactica. Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead had both been written by incoming head writer Steven Moffat featuring David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

Doctor Who Hideout would like to congratulate all the people involved who produce such spectacular computer generated images for Doctor Who, Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures. A list of winners is available here on the official Den of Geek website.
