Matt Smith for Three Years?

Various online sources including the Sun are claiming that Matt Smith has signed up to be the eleventh Doctor for three years with an optional two years after that. The BBC announced that last month that Matt Smith will be the eleventh actor to portray the Doctor since the show began in 1963 with William Hartnell.

Most of the reports suggest that Matt has signed a £200,000 deal for each year that he portrays the Doctor. The Sun claims that David Tennant has been paid £1,000,000 a year since he took over from Christopher Eccleston in 2005.

An apparent BBC Insider claims;

“Bosses don’t want Matt doing a David and leaving when things are going great.”

Doctor Who Hideout would like to remind viewers that this story hasn’t been confirmed as of yet and currently comes from unreliable sources.
